Mr. Atul Joshi is Founder and CEO of Oyster Capital Management.
Mr. Joshi is a renowned economic policy veteran and an experienced banker with more than 25 years of experience. Most recently he was the Managing Director & CEO of Fitch Ratings Group for India and Sri Lanka. Prior to Fitch Ratings, Mr. Joshi worked in ICICI Bank and ING Vysya Bank in different functions such as Project Finance, Debt Capital Market, Debt and Currency trading desks, International Banking, Financial Institutions Group etc. He invests in and mentors start-ups. He is accredited with introduction of several innovative instruments in the country such as the first CMBS, first ADF securitization, the first offshore borrowing by any bank since independence, first setting up of MTN program, the first Murabaha structure etc.
He has advised international investors in infrastructure assets in drafting their India specific investment policy. He has contributed to the concept of Green Financing for a leading Global Multi Lateral agency. He is a member of the Managing Committee of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC) and heads the Economic Policy Committee. He has been on several committees of CII, FICCI and Indo American Chamber.
Mr. Joshi speaks regularly at several conferences in India and internationally. Mr. Joshi features regularly in electronic and print media. He delivers lectures at some of the prestigious institutions and features regularly in electronic media and print media.
He is the All India 12th Rank holder in Chartered Accountants exam. He is a double graduate in Commerce and Economics from Bombay University. He also holds Bachelor degree in General Law. He has represented India to Singapore under International Air Cadet Exchange Program, 1987 of NCC (National Cadet Corps), India.
